    Teaching Effectiveness Course 2024

    We would like to thank the UP Diliman faculty members who participated in the Teaching Effectiveness Course (TEC) this year, entitled: Fundamentals of University Teaching. The first run of TEC 2024 was conducted face-to-face at the Institute for Small-Scale Industries from January 29 – February 1, 2024.

    The Associate Dean and Program Chair/Director of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic University (ZPPSU) visited the College of Education and Institute of Civil Engineering of UPD for their benchmarking activity last December 4, 2023.

    The Vice President, Dean, Directors, Coordinator and select faculty members of Surigao Del Norte State University (SNSU) visited several UPD academic units for their benchmarking activity last December 5-6, 2023.

    Call for participants for the Teaching Effectiveness Course (TEC): Fundamentals of University Teaching

     

    Call for participants for the Teaching Effectiveness Course (TEC): Fundamentals of University Teaching

    The Office for the Advancement of Teaching (OAT), under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) would like to invite UP Diliman faculty members to participate in the Teaching Effectiveness Course (TEC) entitled “Fundamentals of University Teaching.” This face-to-face event will be held at the Teodoro Room (Rm 301), 3rd floor, UP Institute of Small-Scale Industries (UP-ISSI) and will run from January 29 to 01 February 2024.

    The TEC is a 4-day (32 hours) introductory course on teaching and learning in higher education intended for new or early-career faculty members in the university, particularly those teaching at the undergraduate level. The course involves offline exercises with face-to-face workshops and opportunities for interaction with co-participants and facilitators. Learning is expected to be collaborative and experiential.

    We would greatly appreciate it if you could help us identify faculty members who will greatly benefit from this course. Please help us cascade the information about the schedule to your faculty so that those interested could calendar the activity.

    All TEC sessions will start at 9:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. The TEC course is free of charge but pre-registration is required due to limited slots. We can only accommodate 60-70 participants on a first-come-first-served basis and priority will be given to those who are interested and committed to attend the entire 4-day training. Participants will be provided with lunch, snacks, and a course kit. A certificate will be awarded to those who will complete the 4-day course and submit the necessary requirements. A performance report will be forwarded to the head of the unit at the end of the program.

    We would like to express our gratitude to the administrative staff, faculty members, and administrators from various academic units who participated in the “Alamin Ang SagOAT Consultation Series: OAT Services and Overload Pay Computation”, on November 6 and 13, 2023 held at the Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business, UP Diliman.
