In their 1223rd meeting on 22 August 2007, the Board of Regents approved the establishment of the UP Diliman Centennial Professorial Chairs and Faculty Grants with honoraria of ₱100,000.00 and ₱75,000.00, respectively. A total of 100 professorial chairs and faculty grants will be awarded every cycle beginning in 2008. Those who will be in the “January to December cycle” of professorial chairs and faculty grants will be awarded during the September University Council Meeting. Those who will be in the “July to June cycle” of professorial chairs and faculty grants will be awarded during the February University Council Meeting.
In the meeting of the Executive Committee on 17 October 2007, it was agreed that to qualify for the UP Diliman Centennial awards, the faculty must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a regular faculty member
- Must have PhD/doctoral degree
- Must show proof of research or creative outputs within the period of reckoning
- Must show proof of mentoring within the period of reckoning
