The TEC: Fundamentals of University Teaching Resources Site is now accessible!

Working from Home | Cultivating Effectiveness and Wellbeing Workshop
“Mindfulness is a practice that can help students of all ages tune their instrument of learning. By that I mean their entire being—body, mind, and heart…as well as their relationship among themselves as learners, and thus, a social/environmental dimension that is also crucial to optimal learning and inquiry.” – Jon Kabat-ZinnJoin Mindfulness at Play (MAP) as we explore what mindfulness is and how it can help teachers work from home, cultivate their own (and eventually their students’) well-being and maybe even practice it during classes. The two-part workshop will feature many practical exercises to help us ground amidst this challenging context (university closure, lack of f2f interactions, worries about our own and others’ health and so on). The two sessions will also help teachers release stress, frustration and anxiety bya) paying attention to the breath and the body; andb) cultivating that awareness that arises from “careful and care-filled” attending. The hope is that these sessions will not only jumpstart teachers’ mindfulness practices but that the teachers will also be inspired to explore how the mindfulness exercises learned can be integrated into their teaching.Participants are highly encouraged to attend both dates if your schedule permits. But you may attend only one session. Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely while sitting down.Event Dates:November 22 and 29, 2021Time: 1:30 – 3:00 PMRegister through this link: bit.ly/2XMgu6Y or via the QR Code provided in the photo. This is a free workshop for UP Faculty.Slots are limited.
