2018 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos
The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos is a career-service award for exemplars in the academe, military, and police sectors. Last 9 August 2018, the Metrobank Foundation held a conference in Quezon City to reveal this year’s Outstanding Filipinos. One of the ten (10) awardees is UP Diliman’s nominee, Carla B. Dimalanta, PhD., Professor 10. She was recognized for rendering service that have inspired and influenced the academe, industry, and her respective communities. -

2018 Gawad Tsanselor Para Sa Natatanging Guro
The Office for the Advancement of Teaching congratulates the awardees of this year’s Gawad Tsanselor para sa Natatanging Guro. This year’s winners are Associate Professor Bryan Pajarito, Ph.D. (COE), Associate Professor Louis Angelo M. Danao, Ph.D. (COE), Professor Ricardo T. Jose, Ph.D. (CSSP), and Professor Jose Carlo G. De Pano (CAL). These teachers have exhibited eminence and commitment in the fields of teaching, administrative duties, and research and extension services.
The Gawad Tsanselor is a commendation awarded yearly to UP Diliman faculty, staff, Research and Extension Professional Staff (REPS), students, and community members in recognition of outstanding performance and service. The ceremony in which the awards are bestowed are part of the the university’s “Linggo ng Parangal” tradition (recently celebrated as Buwan ng Parangal) that pays homage to individuals of the UPD community who have exemplified and upheld ‘honor and excellence’ in their respective professions.
