    Designing for Teacher Wellbeing Workshop

     

    Join us on December 6, 2021 (Monday), 1:00PM-3:30PM together with Habi Education Lab as we take a deep dive into the various facets of wellbeing – which provides space for teachers to reflect and take action.

    Participants in this workshop are highly encouraged to:

    (1) Prepare art materials (i.e. pen, paper, coloring materials); and

    (2) Ensure that you are in a comfortable, quiet space when you join the call since this will involve breakout discussions.

    CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS TO THE ORIENTATION FOR TEACHING ASSISTANTS (TA), TEACHING FELLOWS (TF) AND LECTURERS

    We are inviting and encouraging NEWLY HIRED Teaching Assistants, Teaching Fellows, and Lecturers to participate in this year’s brief orientation program. The orientation will be on October 1,2021 (Friday), from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, via Zoom.
    This event aims to:
    (1) familiarize the TAs/TFs and Lecturers about their roles and responsibilities; and
    (2) provide a forum for questions and clarifications.
    Please note that this orientation is intended for TAs/TFs and Lecturers hired during AY 2020-2021 and AY 2021-2022 but those hired prior to these academic years are also welcome.

    CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS TO THE 2021 ORIENTATION OF THE NEW UP DILIMAN FACULTY (ONF) SERIES

    We are inviting and encouraging NEW FULL-TIME FACULTY MEMBERS to participate in this year’s Orientation of New Faculty (ONF) Series. The orientation will run from September 27, 2021 to October 4, 2021 via Zoom. Participants are requested to devote around 2 hours of their time per ONF session. 

     

    The week-long event aims to: 

    (1) welcome the new faculty in the UPD community; 

    (2) orient the UP faculty on academic and administrative policies;

    (3) familiarize the faculty about their roles and responsibilities; and 

    (4) provide a forum for burning questions. 

     

    Please note that this series is intended for FULL-TIME FACULTY HIRED DURING A.Y. 2020-2021 and AY 2021-2022. Other faculty members are also welcome in case they’d like some refresher on the topics. Lecturers may find some topics useful but please be reminded that the majority of the sessions might not be applicable to their experiences.

  • SET Answering for Midyear 2020-2021

    SET Answering for Midyear 2020-2021

     

    The Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) Answering Module in the Computerized Registration System (CRS) will be open from August 13 to 20, 2021 only. This applies to all units except the MBA and MS Finance programs of the College of Business Administration, PM-TMEM and ASP. 

     

    Students may accomplish the SET by logging into their CRS accounts and clicking on the “SET Answering Module.” Those who fail to answer the SET will be tagged as “low priority” in the next term’s pre-enlistment, while the students in the MBA calendar who fail to answer the SET will be delayed for 1 hour in the next term’s real-time enlistment. 

     

    Note that the evaluation of the teaching performance of teaching fellows and teaching assistants (TFs/ TAs) should also be conducted during the period stated above.

    Call for Participants for the Teaching Effectiveness Course (TEC) 1: Fundamentals of University Teaching

    We would like to invite UPD faculty members to participate in the first in a series of teaching effectiveness courses this year entitled: Fundamentals of University Teaching (in a Remote Learning Context) which will run for 3 weeks, from August 2 to 19, 2021.

    This is an introductory course on teaching and learning in higher education intended for new or early-career faculty members in the university, particularly those teaching at the undergraduate level.

    The course involves a blended learning approach, combining asynchronous or offline exercises with synchronous workshops and opportunities for interaction with co-participants and facilitators. Learning is expected to be collaborative and experiential.
