Student motivation and classroom engagement were the focus of the third and final episode of Usapang Guro, Usapang Turo, a three-part webinar series organized by the University of the Philippines Diliman’s Office for the Advancement of Teaching (OAT) under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA).

The session was attended by 245 participants, with Dr. Faye Marsha G. Camahalan, Professor of Educational Psychology at Indiana University Southeast’s College of Education, Arts, and Human Services, serving as the resource speaker.

Dr. Camahalan discussed factors that influence student motivation. She also discussed approaches to encouraging active classroom participation and student engagement. She included concrete examples of how classroom activities can encourage students to participate, reflect on their learning, and remain engaged in lessons.

The webinar concluded the three-part Usapang Guro, Usapang Turo series, which explored different dimensions of teaching, from faculty well-being and stress management to student motivation and engagement.
