The Orientation for UPD Deans and Unit Administrative Officers was successfully held from March 18 to 20, 2026, in Tagaytay City. The three-day activity organized by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) in collaboration with the Office for the Advancement of Teaching (OAT) brought together deans and administrative officers in a space to collaborate and dialogue.

The orientation featured a series of discussions and interactive sessions to guide deans and AOs on updates on academic policies and processes. It also served as a venue to allow participants to engage in meaningful conversations in a relaxed environment, sharing best practices, addressing common challenges, and encouraging stronger networks among colleges and departments.

We are grateful for our resource speakers for their valuable contributions and for enriching the discussions throughout the orientation: Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Maria Vanessa Lusung-Oyzon, PhD, AVP for Academic Affairs (Faculty Development) Ian Kendrich Fontanilla, PhD, OIL-Diliman Director Carlene Arceo, PhD, OIL-Diliman Faculty Mobility Representative Mr. Rusell Ryuji Reyes, OFA Diliman Director Christian Orozco, PhD, and OUR Information System Analyst Mr. Jacob Obinguar.

We also thank the attendees for their active participation in this first orientation for Deans and Unit AOs in years. May the experience reinforce our shared sense of purpose by working together and serving our community with honor and excellence.
