We would like to thank the UP Diliman REPS and Faculty members who actively participated in our training-workshop on NVivo (a qualitative data analysis software) and orientation on XLStat, and Wolfram Mathematica, held at Room 104, Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business on July 23, 2024.We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Nicamil K. Sanchez, the CEO of Philippine Consortium Inc. (PCSWHDR), who served as a resource speaker during the event and helped us navigate the use of the software. -

The Deans, Directors and select faculty members of Catanduanes State University (CatSU) – College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) visited several UPD academic units for their benchmarking activity last July 9, 2024.
We are grateful to Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II (Office of the Chancellor), Wilzhar Maquinta (Computer Center Representative), Dean Rhea Rowena U. Apolinario and College Secretary Mark Anthony A. Santos (SLIS), and Department Chair John Justine S. SET Answering for Midyear AY 2023-2024
Please note that the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) Answering Module in the Computerized Registration System (CRS) will be open from July 24, 2024 – August 5, 2024
only. This applies to all units except the MBA and MS Finance programs of the Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business, the Master of Management (MM), and Master in Governance and Innovative Leadership (MGIL) programs of UPDEPP/O, PM-TMEM, and UPSA.Students may accomplish the SET by logging into their CRS accounts and clicking on the “SET Answering Module.” Those who fail to answer the SET will be tagged as “low priority” in the next term’s pre-enlistment, while the students in the MBA calendar who fail to answer the SET will be delayed for 1 hour in the next term’s real-time enlistment.
Note that the evaluation of the teaching performance of teaching fellows and teaching associates (TFs/TAs) should also be conducted during the period stated above via CRS (if available).

Use of Current EdTech Tools Including AI Related Tools and Advanced Features of UVLê
The Interactive Learning Center Diliman (ILCD – OVCAA) and the Office for the Advancement of Teaching (OAT – OVCAA), invite UP Diliman faculty members to participate in a face-to-face seminar titled “Use of Current EdTech Tools Including AI Related Tools and Advanced Features of UVLê.” This event will be held on August 9, 2024 (Friday) from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at Seminar Room D, National Center for Transportation Studies (NCTS).For this seminar, we aim to (1) familiarize faculty members on how to use current EdTech tools such as AI related tools and advanced features of UVLê (e.g., self-paced courses, HTML5, and Scorm Packages) for teaching university-level students and (2) address questions and concerns from participants related to theresponsible use of AI.The resource speaker and facilitator for the orientation-workshop is Dr. Miguel Francisco M. The OAT-OVCAA, invites UP Diliman faculty members and REPS to participate in the face-to-face training/workshop on NVivo (a qualitative data analysis software) and orientation on XLStat and Wolfram Mathematica. This event will be held on July 23, 2024 (Tuesday) from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Room 305, Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business, UP Diliman.For this orientation-workshop, we aim to (1) equip participants with training on NVivo and a general introduction to using XLStat and Wolfram Mathematica; and (2) address questions and concerns from participants related to these software.The resource speaker and facilitator for the orientation-workshop is Dr. Nicamil K. Sanchez, the CEO of Philippine Consortium Inc. (PCSWHDR), the sole distributor and reseller of these software in the Philippines.Participants are requested to download NVivo, XLStat, and Wolfram Mathematica prior to the workshop and to bring a fully charged laptop.Please note that the slots for this workshop are limited and can only accommodate 30-35 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Call for Participants: Seminar Series on Statistical Techniques to Enhance Thesis Advising – Questionnaire Design and Survey Research Issues
The Office for the Advancement of Teaching (OAT) invites all UP Diliman faculty members to participate in the face-to-face workshop: Seminar Series on Statistical Techniques to Enhance Thesis Advising, which will be held on July 25, 2024 (Thursday) from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the First Floor, Lecture Hall, UP Diliman School of Statistics.
The first session of the seminar series will refresh our knowledge on Questionnaire Design and Survey Research Issues. Specifically, we aim to (1) equip faculty members with essential tools and methods for effective questionnaire design and survey research; (2) apply these techniques through workshop activities relevant to questionnaire design and survey research; and (3) foster a supportive environment for sharing best practices in thesis advising.
The resource speaker and facilitator for the workshop is Associate Professor Francisco N. de los Reyes, the Director of the UP System Office of Admissions and a faculty member from the UP Diliman School of Statistics.
