In line with the upcoming celebration of the 2024 Linggo ng Parangal, we are disseminating the criteria and nomination form for the 2024 Gawad Tsanselor sa Natatanging Guro. The reckoning period of accomplishments is from AY 2020-2021 to AY 2022-2023.
The Gawad Tsanselor sa Natatanging Guro has been awarded since 1995. The award recognizes faculty members who have outstanding accomplishments, and consistently demonstrated honor and excellence, in teaching, research and public service.
We urge all colleges and units to make their local searches and nominate any number of their deserving faculty members, provided every nominee is endorsed by the Dean/Director/Unit Head. Any faculty member may nominate to their Dean/Director/Unit Head their candidate for the final endorsement at the unit level. We provide a distribution of the number of previous awardees by college/unit in the Annex for your information.
The primary criteria for the evaluation of the nominees are based on:
• a 1,500-word statement of the nominee’s teaching philosophy (What does it mean to be a UP faculty?)
• summary and evidence of milestone accomplishments in teaching, research, and public service that illustrate how the nominee’s teaching philosophy is practiced.
