The Office for the Advancement of Teaching or OAT (formerly Office of the Director of Instruction), represents the enduring significance of teaching in the context of academic life and community. This is particularly evident in the University of the Philippines Diliman, the largest constituent university of the University of the Philippines (UP) System. In 2014, UP Diliman had 376 academic programs, 2,192 faculty and over 23,000 students representing diverse sectors in society.
Under the leadership of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), the OAT is dedicated to serve UP Diliman educators—teachers who make quality education a reality by creating enriching learning experiences, providing insights that provoke creative and critical thought, and mentoring talented scholars striving to become the best in their field.
